2022 Summer Course
2022 marks the fifth anniversary of LCCE. We are making a full comeback with Junior Orchestra, Senior Orchestra as well as the Choir! Due to the COVID pandemic, we didn’t have the choir course for the last two years. It has come back with great expectations this year. In addition, our junior orchestra has expanded to include wind, brass, and percussion instruments. There will also be sectional rehearsals with sectional tutors. At the end of the course, we will host a live concert for family and friends.
Both the Senior and Junior orchestras will rehearse and perform 2-3 pieces respectively, chosen from Chinese and western repertoire. The choir will also bring us songs from both western and Chinese traditions.
This year the Senior Orchestra will also premiere a new commission from LCCE, written by Edmund Jolliffe.
The two orchestras and the choir will have five days of rehearsal. The applicants to the orchestras are required to submit a recent recording to be placed into the most suitable course.
Every year, we welcome young musicians from both Chinese and non-Chinese heritage to come to make music together. The fee for this course and concert is £200/per participant. As always, do not let finances stop you from applying. We have never turned a student away for financial reasons. Please click the button below to register.
