2021 Summer Concert

LCCE made an exciting return to a live concert at the end of August this year. Over 60 young musicians, separated into two groups, rehearsing and giving a final performance, first time for nearly two years!

The Junior String Ensemble were conducted by our ever-beloved violinist and YouTube star tutor Yushan Li. They performed four short pieces: Ninjia, You and Me, I Love You, China, and See You Again. It was the very first live performance for some of the young players, and they were so focused and enjoy it so much!

The Senior Orchestra, under the baton of the renowned conductor Scott Wilson, tackled more serious repertoire, starting with Weber’s Turandot Overture, followed by the slow movement of Schubert’s Symphony No.6 and Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture in a climactic ending. This year the orchestra became more complete with woodwinds and brass included, and we would like to pass our special thanks to guest performers who helped out.

We hope everyone enjoyed this concert (despite being slight different in that it was socially distanced and everyone was wearing a face mask), the players, tutors and audience. Please also feel free to comment and share the videos. We would like to see all of you again, so please pencil in 27 August 2022 for our summer concert next year!
