China Daily has recently covered us on the first page of its 1 August edition, following our press release on Monday 31 July. We really appreciate its interest in us.
The paper article has described us as aiming to promote Chinese culture in Britain and help Chinese children learn communication skills through the fun of making music, but also more importantly, we welcome non-Chinese children to join and develop these skills as well.
To quote one of the volunteer teachers, Terrie Tai, “This group fills a gap, because previously there were no Chinese children’s choirs or ensembles in the UK. Often, Chinese children learn singing or musical instruments at home, but we know it is so important for children to work together in a team. Musical collaboration is also important if some of the children want to develop a career in music in the future.”
