LCCE has trialled its first music workshop aimed at younger kids who have an interest in exploring the fun of music making, in a variety of forms. Led by the energetic and experienced music teacher Gigi Lam, the workshop involved learning basic singing techniques, including breathing, vocal warm-ups, rhythms and movement games, singing together, plus singing in different languages, and much more! LCCE has recently announced its 2017 winter concert, to be held at St John’s Waterloo on 9 December. Like our first concert, it will be performed by both our choir and chamber orchestra, with winter and Christmas as its main theme. Please stay tuned!
LCCE successfully held its first summer concert on the 21 August at St John’s Waterloo. Both the choir and chamber orchestra played a total of 10 pieces to an audience of around 250 people. The choir sang a pretty wide range of repertoire, which included “Jasmine Flowers”, a Chinese folk song, “Beauty of the Earth”, a modern hymn by John Rutter, “Heidenroslein”, a short song by Franz Schubert, and “Chorus

LCCE started its first rehearsal today at St Andrew’s Waterloo! We had six hours of rehearsal, divided into two halves. The chamber music ensemble practised in the morning, and the choir in the afternoon. After some minor initial teething problems, the children played and sang beautifully. After months of preparation, LCCE’s first public concert is finally upon us. We will be performing an one-hour concert at the charming venue of St John’s Waterloo from 16:30 to 17:30 on 19 August. London Chinese Children’s Ensemble proudly announced the time and venue of its first public performance and rehearsals. London Chinese Children’s Ensemble (LCCE) is finally launched! We are calling for all young Chinese boys and girls who have a passion for singing to join us! We are looking to combine classic western vocal tradition with a Chinese touch, and hope to showcase our talents in venues across London and other areas in the UK in the next 12 months.
